Welcome to the Department of Business Administration and management
Training professional administrative experts with strong communication, office management, and organizational skills.
The Department of Business Administration and management is part of the school of Business and Management Studies. The programme commenced with about twenty (20) students and was initially part of the Department of Commercial Studies which consisted of two programmes; namely Secretaryship and Management Studies and the Accountancy. At the time, part-time teaching staff were recruited to complement the efforts of the few full time teaching staff. Subsequently, five (5) full-time teaching staff were recruited to the Department to augment the existing staff. The Department currently has ten (10) permanent teaching staff.
Aims and Objectives:
The aims of the Department are to produce graduates in Secretaryship and Management Studies to serve as staff and managers in both private and public institutions. Also, to equip our products with skills to enable them use modern Information Communication Technology to aid the achievement of organisatinal goals.

Academic Profile
Dr. Chilala Osman is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Secretaryship and Management Studies at the School of Business and Management Studies, Bolgatanga Technical University.
He obtained his PhD in Business Administration (Management Option) from Valley View University, Ghana, in 2024. He also holds a Master of Arts degree in Social Policy and Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Ghana (2009).
He has over fifteen research publications with several citations, contributing significantly to academic scholarship in management, governance, and organizational studies.
Teaching & Professional Experience
As a lecturer, Dr. Osman is committed to teaching and mentoring students, equipping them with knowledge and practical skills to become future leaders and professionals. His academic and professional experience provides deep insight into management systems and organizational dynamics.
