Established in 2011, the Department of Procurement and Logistics Management (PLM) at Bolgatanga Technical University (BTU) was among the pioneering institutions in Ghana to offer a dual-specialization programme integrating Procurement and Supply Chain Management with Logistics and Transport Management. Since its inception, the Department has evolved significantly, responding to global trends and the dynamic needs of industry and academia.

Prof. Emmanuel Caesar Ayamba is a seasoned academic with over 15 years of teaching experience at Bolgatanga Technical University. He is an astute researcher with numerous publications in reputable journals, focusing on Sustainable Development, Tourism Development, Environmental Sustainability, Economic Growth, and Corporate Social Responsibility. He has authored over three books, published under the auspices of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) and the Ministry of Education, contributing significantly to educational development and policy formulation.

Led the department on a visit to Zipline (Walewale), for which the department entered into a research collaboration with them. Based on the research collaboration with Zipline, the department successfully published research articles.
Under my leadership as Head of Department, a 2-year and 1- year MSc programmes in Procureent, Logistics and Supply Chain Management were introduced and are currently running
In addition, a 4-year Bsc in Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain management (Regular and Weekend) were introduced
Also, a 2-year diploma program in Procurement and Supply Chain Management was again introduced
The department embarked on outreach programs and engaged in radio interactions on department programs to make known our programs to the general public. This has led to a tremendous increase in the student enrollment over the past four years.
Provided opportunity for students to practically appreciate the concepts taught in Class on various supply chain courses by organizing seminars with industry players as the key resource persons.

Oswald Atiga (PhD) has been a leading academic and researcher for the past decade. He has conducted research and published in reputable African and international journals in Logistics Management, Ghana’s public Procurement Law, Procurement Management and Ethics. Dr.Atiga has also published a book entitled “public sector procurement in Ghana volume 1”. Additionally, he lectures in Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management related courses not only at the Bolgatanga Technical University school of Business but also in similar courses on part-time basis from the IDL – KNUST and UDS business schools.

Mr. Mustapha Torobo Seidu is an accomplished educator with over a decade of teaching and research experience in the areas of procurement management, strategic supply chains, and commercial negotiations. Dr. James Abagna Azanlerigu is an astute academic who has researched broadly and widely in the areas of service operations in dynamic business environments, examined sustainable procurement orientation in SOEs and private entities. A former Head of Department and chaired a number of committees. Has supervised many undergraduate and postgraduate students’ theses in the field of procurement, logistics and supply chain management. Dr. Azanlerigu lectures undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the department and at the KNUST Distance learning programmes and at the UDS Business School. Dr. Azanlerigu is one of the key founders of the Department of Procurement and Logistics management. He is a pioneering lecturer involved directly in the development of relevant and critical curriculum to run programmes in the department. Currently Dr. Azanlerigu is also a resource person at the KNUST-Africa Institute of Sanitation & Waste Management(K-Aisam) in corporate training in logistics and supply chain management.

Mr. Bright Tanzubil Junior
Lecturer
Bright Tanzubil Junior is a young academic who aspires to contribute to society by way of impacting knowledge and conducting research to address pertinent logistical and supply chain problems in the world. He taught several courses in procurement, logistics and supply chain management. He has also supervised a plethora of student research thesis/dissertations at the HND and BSc levels. In addition to teaching and thesis supervision, he has also published research papers in the areas of ethical procurement, educational supply chain management, electronic procurement, last-mile logistics and healthcare logistics.

Assistant Lecturer
John Asaana has about fourteen (14) years’ experience in teaching. I have inspired and nurtured a healthy curiosity in learners as well as providing mentorship. I have leverage technology to support learning thereby creating meaningful learning experiences for my students. In addition to teaching, I supervise research students. I am a goal driven, effective team player, able to relate, create trust in all, good organizational and communication skills (both written and spoken), fast learner, very initiative, can work under pressure and under less or no supervision.
